This prestigious fellowship, named for the former president and CEO of the W.K. Kellogg Foundation is a two-year fellowship opportunity. The goal of the fellowship is to engage future policymakers, like you, in the philanthropic sector to learn about our role in influencing state and federal policy, how to partner with state government and to gain a deeper understanding of philanthropy. Reporting directly to the director of government relations and public policy, the fellow will work closely with the Governor’s Office of Foundation Liaison and the Learning Services team and will support, as needed, the president and CEO of CMF.

 CMF’s public policy goals are developed and supported by our members. CMF’s members lead and support collaborative philanthropic responses to critical needs such as P-20 education, early childhood development, and economic development. This work is led by our Public Policy Committee and is achieved through issue-based affinity groups. CMF has a robust suite of innovative supports for the organization’s advocacy efforts which include partnerships with the Michigan Nonprofit Association, Michigan Nonprofit Council for Charitable Trust, the Michigan Nonprofit Caucus, United Philanthropy Forum and the Council on Foundations, as well as other regional philanthropy serving organizations.
