Serve as a strong voice for disability rights and independent living, working to assist consumers in maintaining their lives independently in the community. 

  • Promotes Disability Partners in the seven-county service area and collaborates with community agencies to best assist the consumer to reach goals for independent living.
  • Provide the core services of Information & Referral, Advocacy, Peer Support, Independent Living Skills Training and Transitions to consumers.
  • Work with other staff to create a network consisting of necessary resources to support consumers in their pursuit of independent living;
  • Maintain up-to-date expertise in disability rights legislation, regulations, and policies relevant to people with disabilities and advocate as appropriate;
  • Provide orientation on the Independent Living Philosophy and Disability Partners services to new consumers;
  • Maintain an understanding of how to perform accessibility surveys;
  • Must document consumer information, IL goals set, and track progress using CIL Management Suites. Provide services in compliance with HIPPA (confidentiality) requirements. 

Education: A degree in Human Services or related field. In the absence of a degree equivalent work and life experience will be considered.

Experience: A person living with a disability; Ability to interact with consumers as a peer.

  • Develop digital publications with interactive components, including but not limited to video, slide shows, surveys, and forums.   
  • Act as a project liaison between the foundation team, marketing & communications as well as different service lines. 
  • Responsible for developing and implementing an on-going foundation website strategy to ensure layout, content, and design is current, relevant, and accurate.

Educational / Talent Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, English, Public Relations, Public Policy, or a related discipline. Masters preferred.
  • Four (4) years of work experience in communications and marketing, community relations, or development.
  • Familiarity with public housing, workforce development, early childhood education, behavioral/mental health, and veteran’s issues is preferred.

The Program Administrator assists the Executive Director in the administration of the Hospitality House non-food programs designed. These programs include the agency’s emergency transitional shelter program (Breathing Room), direct utility assistance program, and its emergency car repair program (Pit Stop). Duties include but are not limited to screening, intake, case management, program reporting, and tracking.

  • Housing: How is the client progressing to a more permanent housing solution?
  • Utility Assistance: Does the client need critical assistance in the areas of gas, electricity and or water.
  • Transportation: Does the client have the means to get back and forth? If not case management will attempt to tie them into Transportation referral services, (which may or may not include Pit Stop)
  • Case management: Consists of connecting the recipient(s) with authorized support services as relevant and documenting how the person is progressing in utilizing said support services. The position is responsible for supplying direct service to clients and or referral sources and is NOT a counseling or clinical position. 

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Associates degree (or 60 college credit hours), 2 years of experience in customer service and/or human services or a similar field is preferred.

This position is included in on-call rotation once every 4 weeks. Must have, or have the ability to obtain CPR/First Aid Certification. Must be able to multi-task, work flexible hours which may include evening, holidays, and weekends. Must be able to adapt to frequent change and multiple requests and interruptions. Must exhibit excellent attendance, initiative, and the ability to be a team player.
