Center for Equity Education

The Center for Equity Education (CFEE), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, was founded in 2020 to address a gap in expert-led education provided to organizations, such as K-12 education and university institutions. CFEE focuses on federal and state civil rights by educating organizations and investigating grievances related to harassment and discrimination, including sexual harassment under Title VI and VII of the 1964 Civil Rights Act, as amended, and Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972, the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, and other related laws and statutes. CFEE sought to challenge the belief that, because of strained resources and limited budgets, there has been a disruption to the delivery of quality training and education by institutions around key equity topic areas. Training in DEI&A (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Accessibility) and Title IX can be cost prohibitive to many institutions. Understanding the importance of the training’s impact on education, CFEE was founded as a nonprofit with the vision to provide grant-subsidized, expert-led training to educational institutions and to secure an equitable environment. CFEE was founded in Michigan, but it is a national organization that provides services when requested in the United States. To date, CFEE has provided online high-quality services in Michigan, Ohio, and New Mexico. CFEE’s goal is to cultivate an equitable culture so that students can pursue an education and educators can assist in providing an environment free from discrimination and harassment, including sexual and gender violence and sexual harassment.
