Maximizing Efficiency with Canva

By Sarah-Grace Motley, MNA Marketing & Digital Engagement Manager

More engaging and eye catching design can not only elevate your nonprofit's mission, but also help your organization increase your impact, get additional funding, recruit volunteers, and more. Nonprofits often don't have time to spend on complex graphic design nor do they have budgets to hire outside to escalate the branding and impact of the organization. Lucky for you, Canva is your solution.

Canva is a one-stop shop graphic design platform that lets you take creative control including social media posts, logos, presentations, videos, email headers, event invitations, meeting agendas and more. It is easy to learn and use thanks to the thousands of preloaded templates, images, fonts, and graphics, all compiled into a well-designed, user-friendly interface.

Canva was founded in Sydney, Australia, in July 2012 by tech entrepreneurs Melanie Perkins, Cliff Obrecht, and Cameron Adams to help bridge the gap between graphic design and complex programs allowing graphic design to become more accessible to the everyday user.

The even better news is that Canva offers a nonprofit discount allowing access to Canva Pro’s premium features for up to 10 people (including you) in your organization for free.

Creating eye-catching, unique and engaging content for social media can feel overwhelming especially with data showing that visual content is critical to digital engagement.

Designing graphics for Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and your email newsletter and more is remarkably intuitive utilizing the options within Canva including templates and the drag and drop feature. Here are five ways Canva can help you manage social media:

Cover Photos

Your cover photo is the first thing your audience sees when clicking onto your profile on Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter. Taking valuable real estate on your page, these images give your audience an immediate and quick impression about who your organization is.
